Kyle back on air after ‘embarrassing’ on-air fight
Kyle Sandilands was back on air this morning after a 12-minute tirade yesterday in which he called co-host Jackie O an ‘idiot’.
The explosive fight happened at the start of yesterday’s breakfast show when Jackie O and newsreader Brooklyn Ross were discussing the news that former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian allegedly once called Prime Minister Scott Morrison a “horrible, horrible person” in a text message.
News.com.au reports Kyle returned to show apologising to his co-host for calling her an “idiot” and admitting it was a bit of a “carry-on”.
“Oh, it’s a bit embarrassing, yesterday’s carry-on,” he admitted.
“I felt very justified, but I did get my back up a bit – but that happens among friends.”
Despite his apologies, Sandilands insisted he had “every right” to dictate what news runs within the breakfast show.
“I did notice a few people comment, ‘what right does Kyle have to decide what the news is?’,” he said.
“Well, every right, because I run the show. I’m not an employee… I don’t work for anyone.”
The old crack a hissy fit walk out of the studio stunt , been done plenty of times
Who decided that an obviously fake, desperate-to-remain-relevent-Sandilands-tantrum is news?
We did 🙂 It’s a ratings tactic.
How can it be that someone can scream profanities at staff (acknowledging they all seem to work close and well together), and walk in the next day and continue on. Kyle stated he is not an employee of the radio network and doesn’t answer to anyone. In any other work place, using that language would result in an HR discussion. I hope KIIS1065 did exactly that. I admire the show and listen often, but no one has the right to call people horrible words like that
Survey is on the way…they needed some publicity. That’s low like always….
