KIIS host Yumi Stynes shares break up grief live on 3pm Pick-Up

Yumi Stynes has spoken about her separation with partner of almost 10 years, Martin Bendeler.

Stynes, 46, who co-hosts KIIS 106.5’s 3pm Pick-Up with Katie ‘Montie’ Dimond and Kate Langbroek, has painstakingly revealed some details on her separation with her second husband of nine years and father of two of her four children.

“I’m going through a separation at the moment,” said Yumi.

Sounding like Stynes got the rough end of the stick, she suggests that the locks have been changed and Yumi has been left to start all over again and Bendeler is keeping the lions share.

“I’ve had to find an apartment and do things like move all my stuff, and look at all my crap in boxes and bags and assess what the hell my life is, get my own car, change my address, throw out the old keys that don’t work anymore.”

“It’s been a lot. I spent most of the weekend and Monday moving, and I kind of feel like I’m starting my new life now as a single Mum,” said Stynes.

Stynes did not reveal the reason for the breakup and insists she is not ready to talk about the finer details yet.

“I’ve got hundreds and thousands of words I want to say about it, but I don’t think I’m ready yet,” said Stynes.

“I’ve felt this bottled up in me the last few months. I’ll be in this process for another year, and I just want to kind of break this seal as the reason why I’ve been so up and down lately.”

The break down happened live on the 3pm Pick-Up and co-host Kate Langbroek was quick to support Yumi.

“Yumi I’ve been watching you, and your strength is second to none,” said Langbroek.

“I’ve been in awe of you doing this, and it’s so courageous to make a change – it’s been bloody hard, but courageous.”

Stynes and Bendeler got married in 2012 after Stynes proposed.

The pair have a six-year-old daughter named Mercy, and a five-year-old son whose name has never been shared.

Wow Sarah from Blacktown, I genuinely hope you get the opportunity very soon to show us all how you would handle the exact same circumstances.

I mean, I found the news here to be that 3PM pickup is now live radio and not bath recorded days on advance and passed off as live.

Always sad for the kids; but the lifestyle adjustment may make Yumi think about pulling her head in. She fires off cancel culture like missiles. I won’t be buying the book to support the statement or the pre-Xmas intent to flog it.
