Keith Urban hangs up on Mix 102.3’s Hayley & Max

Yesterday morning on Mix 102.3’s Hayley & Max in the Morning, Hayley Pearson and Max Burford spoke to Keith Urban ahead of his High and Alive World Tour – but the exclusive interview didn’t go quite according to plan.
Keith – who last played in Adelaide in 2022 – opened up about his fond memories of the city and admitted he gets ‘antsy’ before getting on stage, comparing himself to a racehorse kicking the stalls at the starting gate.
But then it all went pear-shaped.
Max asked Keith to take part in the show’s Wall of Truth segment, and he agreed.
But when Max asked him how he feels about his wife Nicole Kidman having intimate scenes in her movies and shows with younger men like Zac Efron, his team immediately disconnected the call live.
The zoom interview with Urban had got off to a decent enough start with some good-natured banter.
“Keith, we can see you, and you are looking radiant!” Max enthused.
“You literally have not aged in twenty years,” added Hayley.
“Ah … that’s just a good internet connection,” Urban modestly replied.
But when the zoom was suddenly disconnected after the question about Nicole, Max was taken aback, asking “Oh … why has that happened? What’s just happened here?”
“Did he just hang up on us?” asked Hayley. “Oh, I knew that would happen! We’ve upset him.”
“We haven’t upset Keith, have we?” asked Max. “I thought we were vibing with Keith.”
“He doesn’t like talking about his wife … because it’s private,” said Hayley. “He hates us.”
Upset about Max asking Keith Urban such a personal question, Hayley said “I have never experienced someone hanging up in an interview with me before. Max, I can’t believe that Keith Urban hung up on us!”
Max replied “If you knew this was going to happen Hayley, why didn’t you stop me asking the question?!”
Keith Urban will be performing in Australia from mid August.

Keith and Nicole have leveraged and used their relationship in the press for a long time. Max’s question was fair and reasonable.
That was an a&&hole thing to do. Not the win these two think it is.
To the people who asked that question on that podcast, let me let you know something OK and you all better learn.
Do not ask Keith Urban any personal private secretive questions he is a very quiet man and he wants it kept that way. If you ask a question like that why don’t you call Nicole and ask that question yourself that was not a question to be asked by Keith Urban. He has his own life and Nicole has her own life…
He is very sensitive in that area. Do you know what he did after he hung that phone he was mad he could not believe that someone would act like that…
Whoever is this person that asked this question I want him to understand and learn. I hope he now knows not to ask anybody a personal private question. Some people don’t like to give out personal information. Maybe it’s because it’s another darn business so you need to tell to the guy who asked the question to not do that ever again…
If I was in the room with him when you asked that question, I would’ve stood up to him. I was stood next to him and said that that is not appropriate question to ask and not a not a time or place to ask that question.
My opinion is this I want the owner or the general manager to call Keith Urban and apologize…
It’s really nobody’s business , it’s between him and his wife and his maker.
Believe me when I say heard that my heart hurt for them both him and Nicole.
That’s just the way of the Enemy to start drama and negativity. Honestly it’s nobody’s business!!! You’re not in the household or relationship so why would you ask that?
The audacity maybe somebody should air your private life !!!
