Katie Woolf bids farewell to the old Mix 104.9 and Hot 100 building

Katie Woolf is about to take annual leave from her role hosting 360 weekday mornings on Mix 104.9. When she returns, for her second decade with the station, they will have changed the address on her.

After nearly 50 years in Peary St Darwin the ARN stations will move closer to the city to 30 Daly Street with more space and improved soundproofing.

To say farewell Katie took us for a stroll down memory lane, as well as around the old building.

Note the picture of Katie’s mentor and station legend Pete Davies on the wall. I’m sure he’ll be joining them in the new building too.

Hope they do spend proper money on sound proofing, with the bus stop out side.

A few years ago, they found a massive snake in the cabling channel under the studios. Working there was probably the funnest and yet, most challenging two years of my life. I met some amazing folks! I lost count of how many deep-fried dim sums I consumed from Uncle Sam’s in my time there but 90% sure it caused my heart attack.
