Kate Ritchie returns to the Nova airwaves with Fitzy & Wippa

After taking a six month break from breakfast radio to focus on her mental health, Kate Ritchie has returned to the airwaves, joining Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli in the Nova Sydney studio this morning.

And her Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie co-hosts rolled out the welcome mat.

“We’ve missed you, Kate. It’s so good to have you back, mate,” said Fitzy.

“Even the callers that call through – off air, even up until yesterday – people were saying, ‘How’s Kate? When’s Kate coming back?’” said Wippa.

Kate said whilst there was an awkward moment or two, “It was very exciting to be back this morning.”

“I noticed there’s a glass door where there wasn’t one before, and we have new carpet,” she noted.

But whilst the studio might have changed during her absence, Kate said her co-hosts certainly hadn’t.
