K rock’s James Speed joins Fox FM as assistant CD

Former Assistant Editor

K rock content director James Speed has a new gig at SCA’s Fox FM.

James is the new assistant content director in Melbourne, returning to SCA after two years with K rock.

The move completes something of a switcheroo between the two stations, with Fox FM music director Dan Hill going the other way to take on the role of K rock content director.

His new role will see James work closely with the content and product team, also overseeing national shows including Weekend Breakfast and Tom & Olly’s new Mid-Dawns show.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the Fox family,” James tells Radio Today.

“Such an iconic radio brand and a highly respected team in the industry.

“I am excited to create great radio everyday with a hard working and extremely dedicated crew who love doing what they do.”

He previously worked as the assistant CD at Hit92.9 in Perth, as operations manager/announcer at SAFM, and in roles at 2DayFM and NXFM.

Prior to that, James worked at Hitz in Bundaberg and Magic FM in Port Augusta.

He started his new gig at the beginning of May.
