Julian Assange’s Mum hangs up on 3AW
This morning on 3AW they planned to talk with Christine Assange about her son's successful appeal for asylum in Ecuador.
But things didn't quite go to plan when she got on the line.
It all started when they were chatting with Sam Castro from the Wikileaks Australian Citizens Alliance. According to ninemsn, co-host John-Michael Howson said…
"You people are so full of it, you make me want to spew up….You support free speech yet you're going on about a country that restricts free speech."
When Christine Assange was introduced on the show this is what happened….

Afterwards, Howson told his co-hosts Darren James and Nick McCallum that he used the Nazi slogan because it was the biggest example of censorship he could think of.
"She comes on and says to me she's not going to talk about that to me shows her trying to censor me….I'm not going to be censored by her so I said, 'Sieg Heil! Sieg Heil!' because it's a Nazi mentality by these people."
McCallum said…."Christine did agree to answer tough questions, I'm disappointed, I would've loved to have been able to speak to her."
Christine Assange has reportedly complained to the show's producer and plans to report the incident to the ACMA.
She has said, "The great irony was he was asking me about free speech, yet he was shouting over the top of me and refusing to let me respond to his statements."
