Jimmy & Nath to host 2Day FM Breakfast in 2025

Reporter

SCA has confirmed that Jimmy & Nath will remain on 2Day FM Breakfast in 2025.

Previously the hosts of national Nights, Jimmy Smith and Nath Roye were moved into the Breakfast slot following the August departure of Hughesy, Ed and Erin.

There had been a question mark over who would take on the Breakfast role full time.

But SCA Chief Content Officer Dave Cameron says Jimmy & Nath have done a great job, and will be staying on 2Day FM Breakfast next year.

“They’re highly commercially attractive,” Cameron told Mumbrella and confirmed to Radio Today. “They’re doing a style of radio at the moment that is not being done in the city.”

The pair scored 3.9% in the breakfast timeslot in today’s survey. They took over from Hughesy Ed and Erin in August.

2Day clearly have given up, had their budget slashed or both if this is the long term plan.

To me, it seems like 2DayFM are out of ideas. I suspect Triple M 104.9 imploding once again (because it’s obviously enough pressure having to launch one new brekky show in Sydney) might also be giving Jimmy & Nath a lifeline they otherwise may not have received.

Credit where it’s due for keeping Jimmy & Nath on-air over Summer (except over the Christmas/New Year period, I’d imagine) while the top raters are off air. This is a smart tactic however it’s also really one that should’ve been used for all other 2DayFM brekky teams during the past decade or so!

If 2DayFM are to gain any traction next year, they’re going to have to splash out on external advertising after (from memory) not really doing any in 2024 or 2023. More immediately though, I wonder if they’ll again waste their Carols In The Domain sponsorship on December 21 by not having the brand exposed beyond a few brief but immemorable mentions/logo appearances? Even though IMO, they should be running 2DayFM TVCs during Channel Seven Sydney ad breaks or even somehow incorporating a promotional segment for Jimmy & Nath during the telecast.

Hopefully they’re getting paid a fortune because they’re careers are over after this

That image is actually from one of the ACE Radio station webpages and not the Hit Network page. Please change this when you have the time to do so. Cheers.

Why is someone editing the comments l left? Literally used the first sentence I started with and removed the rest of my comments. Poor form.
