So did Lady Gaga really phone into 3AW in Melbourne last week?

Here's the background. The call from 'Stefani from Richmond' was taken by Andrew and Mark on 3AW's Overnighters program just before 2am on 4 July.

The caller had a strong American accent, and told the talkback hosts that she had just returned from the Gaga concert, saying;

"It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to, I was absolutely speechless, her shows, her performance, it was unbelievable.”

There are a few other clues that seem to support the story. At the time the call was made, Lady Gaga was winding down in Melbourne having completed her string of five shows at Rod Laver Arena, with a party planned that night at the Northcote Social Club.

Furthermore, Gaga's real name is Stefani.

Andrew from the Overnighters commented; "I didn't suspect it at all, I just came to work last night and Mark, my offsider, said 'apparently we spoke to Lady Gaga last week.'"

"I wish the conversation had gone longer, because I had a couple of song suggestions for her next album"
