ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network signs A Couple of Mitches’ Is It Just Me?
Is It Just Me? the podcast from Mitch Churi and Mitchell Coombs – or Couple of Mitches – has a new home as part of the iHeartPodcast Network.
The podcast has been running for over 50 episodes, having kicked off in October last year, and covers “the rude shock of young adulthood”.
iHeartPodcast’s new recruit, podcast content and partnerships director Stephanie Coombes, said: “We’re thrilled to have Is It Just Me? signed to the iHeartPodcast Network – the show is honest, funny and extremely bingeable. If you’re looking for a laugh at the end of 2020, this is the podcast for you.”
Speaking to Radio Today last month, Coombes’ boss Corey Layton, head of commercial audio and podcasts, revealed what the company looks for when commissioning new podcasts.
“Is it something that will be appealing to our broadcast audience that sit within [our radio and audio] brands? And also something that commercially is of appeal. And if we can tick those two boxes in being able to build an audience and ensure the brand part of it, that’s what we’re looking for,” Layton said.
“I think the podcast space is just continuing to grow and evolve week after week. And what’s great for me is we are just getting behind that continued growth, and by having someone like Steph [Coombes] who can really focus on elements of our podcast offering and continue to grow what we do for audience and brands – it’s exactly the path that I was hoping we were on, and we are very much in it,” he added.
Coombs is a digital and video producer at ARN’s KIIS 106.5 for The Kyle & Jackie O Show, while Churi also holds various roles, including on-air at KIIS Nights.
What about Jenna?
Mitch Churi hosts the national night show on Kiis. I thought that was widely known?
Indeed, Jacob. We were missing the word ‘Nights’.
Thanks for flagging,
Vivienne – Radio Today
what about groundskeeper jenna?
ps . love the podcast sorry tunnel
These boys are a very very smart sign. Great talent with Churri being a strong broadcaster and Coombes has a great social brain – I predict a future radio show will come from this pairing.
