Imogen Anthony opens up about split with Kyle Sandilands
With Kyle Sandilands announcing his engagement to Tegan Kynaston this week, Imogen Anthony has opened up once again about their split in 2019.
Anthony went into detail about the breakup and what lead the couple to end their 8-year-relationship on Good Bitch podcast hosted by Jules Rangiheuea and Jodie Clarke.
“In my case in particular, I didn’t want to fix it. There was one big thing that happened but when we were trying to talk about what we were going to do with it, I was the one that was like ‘I can’t put myself through this anymore,” she explained.
“I’d be on the phone to him; we were having this conversation and I even had my friend there at the time who listened to everything and the next morning I’d see pictures of him and her and I’m like ‘What are you doing? You’re telling me you still want to make this work?
“Then I wouldn’t answer his phone and he’s like ‘Let me explain, let me explain!’ and I wasn’t even answering,” she continued.
“It was self-destructive. We’ve spoken about that since and he admits that,” she said.
“He was going through a lot of shit. He had people he’d worked with for years he was falling out with; he lost his dad a couple of years earlier and was still dealing with that.
“There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes.”
It’s not the first time the former couple’s split has been discussed on a podcast with the KIIS FM star speaking candidly on Mamamia’s No Filter podcast, saying the 19-year age gap was a contributing factor to their break-up.
