Hot Seat winner donates 50k to charity

Staff Writer

This afternoon on Channel 9's Millionaire Hot Seat, Bundaberg resident Kerri Savidge won $50,000. It happens occasionally.

Exciting stuff. But what happened next was amazing. Kerri made the decision to donate all her winnings to the Bundaberg community that has been devasted by flooding.

Like any good Breakfast Show who keep an eye open for topicality, B105's Labby, Stav and Abby saw an opportunity for some strong content, and arranged for the Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island to come to the party.

The Resort have given Kerri a holiday for three nights at the resort with all the extras laid on. A win/win/win. Kerri gets a great holiday, Kingfisher Bay Resort get terrific publicity, and B105 share in the halo of goodwill.

Great stuff all round.

B105's Labby commented;

“Kerri Savidge personifies the Australian spirit of generosity and mateship – she could have pocketed $50,000 and taken a huge load off her own shoulders, but instead she’s donated to the Bundaberg Flood Relief appeal, to take a load off her entire community."

"It’s an amazing act and we are just glad we could surprise her with a wonderful experience, just as she did her community”
