Hit104.7’s Tanya Hennessy receives nomination on Cosmo’s Women of the Year Awards

Canberra breakfast radio host and social media superstar Tanya Hennessy has earned herself a nod in Cosmopolitan’s Women of the Year Awards for this year.

The magazine revealed the nominees yesterday after “looking high and low to find the most inspiring, extraordinary and goddamned talented women” in Australia.

Tanya is nominated in the Performer of the Year category, and faces off against the likes of singer/songwriter Samantha Jade and Wentworth actress Nicole da Silva.

Speaking to Radio Today regarding the nomination, Hennessy explained that the platform of radio had given her the opportunity to be recognised.

“Radio has given me everything, I love radio. It’s the most real, raw and personal form of communication.

“It has taught me to be relentlessly myself,” she added.

Voting is now open via the Cosmopolitan website, with the winners announced in October.
