Heidi’s Happy Hour

Staff Writer

Off the back of hit92.9’s Heidi opening up about her mental health struggles, she hosted a Heidi’s Happy Hour to reach out to other anxiety sufferers.

Thursday night Heidi took the opportunity to further share her own personal struggles and experiences face-to-face to listeners, enabling them to open up to her in-turn.

The event featured guest speaker and Director of Masters Psychology, Rochelle Masters, who spoke about mental health from a clinical perspective, arguing that anxiety is a current epidemic.

“As a clinical psychologist, sitting across the room from countless individuals negotiating their mental health needs, a trusted and compassionate voice can make all the difference,” she said.

“Heidi has become a ‘go to’ for the listeners who are trying to understand their needs and where to access help”

Among the guests was The West Australian’s Inside Cover Editor, Ben O’Shea, who said Heidi’s honesty was inspiring.

“People in the media often forget how much power they have to do good in the community and, with anxiety being such a huge issue in our society, it was great to see Heidi be so honest about her own life and take a leading role in inspiring positive change.”
