Hadley to cover 2GB breakfast for Jones

Staff Writer

Alan Jones is expected to make an announcement regarding his breakfast radio future at 2GB on Monday morning’s show.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that Ray Hadley will replace Jones’ fill-in Chris Smith, stepping into the coveted breakfast slot “temporarily” from tomorrow, as Jones recovers from his third surgery – this time on his neck.

As we begin week four of 2017’s first survey period today, this reshuffle – albeit a temporary one – will be well received by advertisers.

Hadley will be on-air for 5½-hours every weekday – 5.30am to 11am – covering both Jones’ slot and his own, “for at least three weeks”.

Chris Smith will bring his show forward an hour, on-air between 11am and 3pm.

Radio Today will cover Jones’ announcement, tomorrow (13 Feb).
