Guy Dobson on Survey 5: “Eight books in a row and we’ll be concerned. We’re nowhere near that.”
Radio Today caught up with Southern Cross Austereo’s chief creative officer Guy Dobson following Tuesday’s Survey 5 results.
When can we expect an announcement on replacement for Hamish and Andy? And when can we expect an announcement on the Hit Perth breakfast lineup?
The best time to announce something is when we announce something.
Slight dips for Hit in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. Is that a concern?
No. Eight books in a row and we’ll be concerned. We’re nowhere near that. Put some of it down to the vagaries of the survey system.
It’s the first book since Em and Harley’s 7-8pm national timeslot. What’s your initial thoughts on performance?
Em and Harley are solid entertainers honing their craft each and every day. Good lifts and bad dips we never look at one book. The show is one for the ages and is getting better every day.
Jase and PJ expect to replace Matt and Meshel on KIIS. Do you see that as a threat for Fox?
Only concerned about what we do and how can we do it well. I wish them the best of luck Jase is a great talent. I’m sure PJ is good at her craft as well. God bless them both.
Triple M Brisbane was the only commercial station to increase in breakfast, as well as overall. You’ve got to be happy with that?
Any time any of our brands heads north in a survey I’m happy. Beats going south. There’s a great team in place in Brissy.
Strong result for Triple M breakfast in Melbourne. When can we expect an announcement on Mick Molloy’s replacement?
Any day now. Communication plans are being hatched even as we speak.
Great result for Triple M Adelaide, especially breakfast. What do you put that result down to?
A consistently good breakfast show day in, day out and amazing stewardship from Matt O’Reilly.
Has Dobbo been taking lessons in giving non answers from the Malcolm Turbull School of Interview Technique?
Guy Dobson’s answers remind me of the responses Broncos rugby league coach Wayne Bennett gives often to media when he is asked questions under sufferance.
mix94.5 Perth also increased share in breakfast as well as overall. As did hit92.9.
what was he point of that interview- he didnt answer a thing
Remember last year when Guy Dobson assured everyone on this website that there be no changes to the 2DAY FM breakfast team and then a week later Rove and Sam were dumped. I’m not sure I can believe anything that Guy says.
@ Missed His Calling, It will all become clear in the fullness of time……………….probably
The Hit network is getting beaten in every market by its main competitor Nova, except for fox which dropped a share point and is number 3 in market.
If Guy isn’t concerned about the hit network then he isn’t doing his job.
