Guvera passes 10 million users

In the competitive streaming space, Gold Coast based Guvera has had a rocky few years, however today the company announced that it has passed 10 million users worldwide.

Guvera had 1.5 million users in October 2014, and in April 2015 reached 10 million; with 35,000 signups each week in the last six months.

The rapid growth has been powered in part by the acquistion of blinkbox in the UK 4-months ago which plugged in 2.5 million new users, whilst India has now reached 3 million users.

Guvera CEO Darren Herft said:

“As a young brand, we welcome the 10 millionth user to the Guvera platform with a real sense of pride and delight. We’re thrilled to see Guvera’s global community growing daily and we hope to bring more music lovers on board as we enter new markets in 2015.

We believe our growth is also testament to the success of our unique non-disruptive ad-funded model, which allows our users to discover and play the best expert curated music’’.

The company has also debuted it’s latest venture, Fradio, which is available only in the US and Australia at the moment. Fradio is designed to allow users to host their own ‘radio’ broadcasts using the tracks available in the Guvera library, whilst their friends and fans can listen and interact in real time.
