Good news for Geelong

K rock and bay 93.9 are expanding their news service to provide local and national news 7-days a week for the Geelong, Bellarine and Surf Coast regions.

From December 1st, the news team will deliver live bulletins from the new state of the art Moorabool Street studios, a move that will provide listeners with a comprehensive and local news service.

Geelong Broadcasters news director Rob McLennan says the whole team is looking forward to taking news to the next level.

“The news team is really excited at the prospect of being able to expand Geelong’s most trusted and up-to-date news coverage to seven days a week.

“Geelong Broadcasters takes its reputation as the region’s most trusted news outlet very seriously and that’s demonstrated by this considerable new investment in the newsroom.”

GM Andy Mathers describes it as an exciting development for the Geelong region.

“Our journalists live and breathe news and are totally committed to providing Geelong’s only 7-day local, national and overseas news service.

“After our recent success at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards, this is yet more exciting news for our loyal listeners, community and advertising partners.”

Geelong’s own dedicated live and local weekend news coverage is launched Saturday, December 1.
