GOLD Central Victoria’s Bruce Lees calls time on radio career

Staff Writer

After beginning his career as an announcer/technician at 3WM in 1981, Bruce Lees is finally hanging up the headphones.

The GOLD Central Victoria Breakfast jock is calling time on his radio career and will finish up this Friday, February 1.

Bruce moved to Melbourne in 1986 for a role at 3AK, before spending time at ABC Western Victoria and then settling down at 3CV Bendigo.

He served as the station manager and Breakfast announcer from 1999 to 2014 at GOLD, before handing off the station management role to focus on Brekky.

Current station manager Shand Hogan says Bruce will be missed, having been the voice of Central Victoria for over 30 years.

“It was a pleasure to work with Bruce during his time with GOLD Central Victoria and wish him and his family all the best for retirement,” said content director Daniel Brewer.

The new Wake Up Call starts March 4.
