From crime to the curious: Jack Laurence launches new podcast

Reporter

After spending 15 years behind the mic in commercial radio, Jack Laurence made a bold move – leaving the industry to go it alone in podcasting.

What began as a leap of faith quickly became a career-defining decision.

Since launching his debut true crime series One Minute Remaining in late 2022, Laurence has gone on to create three more successful podcasts, including Crime at Bedtime, which debuted in 2024 and rapidly became his fastest-growing show to date, hitting over 1.5 million downloads in 12 months.

Now, the Australian creator is back with something a little different – but just as addictive.

Mysteries at Bedtime invites listeners to wind down each week with stories that explore the unexplained, the eerie, and the downright bizarre. From chilling UFO encounters and strange disappearances to claims of reincarnation and unexplainable phenomena, the new show takes the same atmospheric storytelling Laurence is known for and applies it to a world beyond crime.

“I’ve been extremely blessed to have found an amazing audience who seem to resonate with and enjoy the podcasts I’m creating—and for that, I’m very grateful,” says Laurence.

He credits the success of Crime at Bedtime with opening the door for this new series.

“When I first launched Crime at Bedtime, I honestly wasn’t sure how it would be received, but I’ve been blown away by its growth,” he says. “While researching stories for CAB, I kept coming across these other incredibly fascinating stories – cases of UFO sightings, bizarre events, and people claiming to have lived past lives. I’d waste hours of my day reading about them, trying to see if I could work them into CAB. But let’s be honest – it’s tricky to make a UFO sighting into a criminal offence!”

And so Mysteries at Bedtime was born.

Presented in the same immersive, story-driven style that has become a signature of Laurence’s work, each episode is designed to be both captivating and calming—perfect for curious minds who want a bit of mystery with their nightly wind-down.

Mysteries at Bedtime launches June 25th wherever you get your podcasts.
