Flume Dominates Mid Year Charts

Staff Writer
Australia’s acclaimed EDM export Flume triumphed over some of the world’s leading artists to record the biggest single in Australia for the first half of 2016.  According to a report released today by local charts publisher, The Music Network, Flume was the clear leader across nine charts including national radio, and ARIA Streaming.

The inaugural Singles & Market Share Report shows Flume’s single Never Be Like You featuring Kai topped the Airplay Hot 100 and ARIA Streaming charts, while it came in at #2 on the ARIA & AIR Singles.

Other notable performers include Adelaide-born export Sia, coming in at #2 on radio, ahead of Justin Bieber who sees two singles in the Top 10 Airplay and ARIA streaming charts.

The Music Network’s Singles & Market Share Report tracked over 20 music charts from January to June 2016, across different genres, states and music services. It is the only report to provide consolidated half-yearly data on all the major music charts, including ARIA, AIR, Airplay Hot 100, Spotify, iTunes and Shazam.

A free version of the report with analysis, interviews, market shares and the Top 10 singles for 20+ charts is available to view online or download here. The full charts can be accessed via The Music Network’s weekly ‘Members Only’ charts portal, available for $45 a month.
