FIVEaa’s Radiothon for Variety kicks off

Former Assistant Editor

FIVEaa‘s charity Radiothon for Variety kicked off this morning (Friday May 25) at 7am, and will run through til 6pm tonight.

This is the fourth year in succession that FIVEaa have held their fundraiser for Variety – The Children’s Charity of South Australia.

Announcers all day will be working towards raising much needed funds for South Australian kids, like Abby – a three-year-old suffering cerebral palsy spastic dysphasia that affects her balance, strength and stamina.

Abby needs life changing Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, and will undertake the procedure in the US this July. The cost of the surgery is $60,000, and the Radiothon will provide much needed help.

“We’re thrilled and, once again, so very proud be able to get behind such a wonderful initiative and support SA kids in need,” said NOVA Entertainment Adelaide GM Neil O’Reilly.

“Our whole team at FIVEaa gets right behind this event and Variety as an organisation.”

“We continue to be very grateful to all the team at FIVEaa for their generosity in providing an amazing platform to inspire community support for all children in need in our state,” added Variety CEO Mark McGill.

Throughout the day, listeners can bid on times live on air. Donations and bids are being taken here.
