Nova 96.9 has partnered with Bendigo Bank to support Rural Aid’s fundraising efforts for the drought that has devastated farmers and families across the nation recently.

After chatting with many affected families recently, Brekky duo Fitzy and Wippa wanted to get involved and so they’ll be joining over 200 volunteers to head out to 14 farms in the Forbes area.

The Forbes Farm Rescue program will provide support for farms in the area, with Nova and Bendigo having already raised over $110K for the program.

Fitzy and Wippa will take part in an outside breakfast broadcast on Thursday, October 13 from Forbes Showgrounds.

“We and the Nova gang can’t wait to get down to the Forbes area and help in any way we can,” said Fitzy and Wippa.

“We’re looking forward to meeting some of the farmers and families and letting them know that the rest of the country are behind them.

“It had been a pleasure to partner with the team at Bendigo Bank and Rural Aid on such a worthy project as this.”

“Having Fitzy and Wippa and the Bendigo Bank team come on board means the Forbes Mega Farm Rescue event will allow us to improve the lives of these farming families and pump valuable dollars into the local community to support businesses doing it tough,” added Rural Aid CEO Charles Alder.

“The Forbes Mega Farm Rescue program involves volunteers pitching in and doing jobs many farmers don’t have the time or money to do and helps improve morale and living conditions of those who help clothe and feed us. through fodder, hampers and more.

“Listeners can donate money to Rural Aid or you can go online and register to volunteer at www.ruralaid.org.au.”
