FBi Radio launches audio comedy mentorship program, Inside Jokes

Staff Writer

FBi Radio has announced its Inside Jokes initiative, a mentorship program for the next generation of audio comedy stars.

Applications for the program are now open. Successful applicants will get broadcast training, mentorship with comedy professionals, access to meeting spaces and audio-making tools, a programmed season of their own comedy program on FBi Radio, and a live performance slot at a comedy industry showcase.

The radio network said Inside Jokes was spawned from a desire to spotlight talent and accelerate the careers of the nest new comedy voices in Sydney, particularly after a challenging 12 months for the entertainment and live industries.

Dan Ilic, FBi board member and host of the A Rational Fear podcast, said: “As a mid-career comedian I’m constantly worried about young people coming to take my job. For me Inside Jokes is a great way to keep your enemies closer.

“Some of Sydney’s most prominent comedy and media personalities have anonymously chipped in to see Inside Jokes happen, and we hope that the comedy talent that gets incubated at FBi Radio go on to earn great money in commercial radio and they remember us at tax time.”
