Ex-triple j host Alex Dyson is running for parliament

Former Assistant Editor

Since departing his long-term gig as triple j‘s Breakfast host at the end of 2017, Alex Dyson has kept busy.

He’s done a lot of travelling, filled in on triple j lunch, launched a new podcast and opened a bar.

Now he’s entering politics and was today named as a candidate for the seat of Wannon in regional Victoria.

The Standard reports Dyson is running as an independent candidate in the seat which includes the town he grew up in; Warrnambool.

“I think people are a bit disillusioned,” he said. “It’s good to be a voice for all people.”

The seat is considered blue ribbon, having been held by the Libs since 2010.
