Erin Molan staying with 2Day FM despite Sky News move

Erin Molan has just signed a deal with Sky News and will sever her long association with Nine next year to join Sky and write for the Daily Telegraph.

Despite the move and the extra workload across various Sky programs that comes with it, Molan intends to stay with Hughesy and Ed on 2Day breakfast.

Meanwhile, Dave Hughes says he intends to buy property in Sydney and spend more time in the harbour city next year.

With covid border restrictions in Victoria he has spent much of this year doing the show from SCA’s Melbourne studios, worried that he may get stuck in quarantine or not get back home with the every changing border closure situation if he travelled to Sydney. Hughesy lives in Melbourne with his wife and young children.

This program is not working. I predict they will pretty much rate they do now, this time next year.

SCA haven’t been able to get any traction since KJ left. SCA should have paid they more money. It’s cost them millions. SCA music format is all over the place. Clearly it’s not working and was never going to work in the first place. Hence why Kate never stayed on.

They don’t really care if the ratings drop further next year because they will still get paid the big dollars anyway

They just need to give this show some time to build an audience, about 4 or 5 years

This show wouldn’t even rate as a Christmas holiday filler show, it’s horrendous. I was hoping with the music format changes they have made they had finally moved on from trying to replace and compete with KJ, instead they try the same thing over and over and fail over and over. Having worked in the industry in the 90s, I’m pretty sure I could put together a more entertaining show myself. Anyway… when I read she would be leaving ch9 I was happy then really sad to hear she will join Sky News. A sad day indeed.
