Do artists get excited over radio play?

Staff Writer

A key skill of Radio Programmers and Music Directors (on music stations) is selecting which new songs make the cut to be added to the playlist.

When you add a new song to rotation, what does it mean to the artist themselves? Is it a big deal? Is it just another part of the gig for them?

Central Coast band pop/rock band Paper Wolves (pictured) last year posted the below video of themselves in their car outside Sea FM, recording their reaction to hearing themselves on the radio for the first time.

Are they excited about it? You decide.

Now, a year and countless gigs later, Paper Wolves are releasing their first official single. The song is called 'Normal after all', and it is released to music television, and radio next Monday 29 April via DMDS.
