Dicko joins 2UE for Breakfast
2UE Sydney has appointed Ian 'Dicko' Dickson and Kathryn Robinson as their Breakfast Program for 2013.
'Dicko' was the Breakfast host for nearly 3 years at Vega 91.5, and Classic Rock 91.5 in Melbourne, whilst Robinson was one of the hosts of the ill-fated Network TEN Breakfast show.
The move appears to signal a move towards a more 3AW style of Breakfast, where the content is more 'chatty', 'warm' and 'personable' rather than the more news-based content of Alan Jones on 2GB and Jason Morrison on 2UE.
The 3AW show of 'Ross and John' has dominated the Melbourne Breakfast ratings for a number of years now.
2UE has not yet officially confirmed the news, however they have moved Morrison from Breakfast to Drive already – reportedly against his wishes.
Morrison is in dispute with 2UE over the move telling the Sunday Telegraph that whilst he would not comment further he "signed up to do Breakfast for three years and my contract still has one year to run".
Whilst 2UE are in the process of settling their 2013 lineup, and identifying a Program Director, at Pyrmont their 2GB rival Alan Jones will be seen a lot less in the building in 2013.
Jones has had a studio built at his home in the NSW Southern Highlands and will broadcast 2 mornings a week from there. It is believed he is intending, with management support, to ultimately conduct his program from his home studio all week.
