Colleagues file complaints against Stubbs
Richard Stubbs, Afternoon host on ABC774 in Melbourne, and former Triple M Breakfast star, is the subject of a bullying investigation involving a number of staff members.
The Herald Sun reports that the bullying complaints involve female staff members, and there has a been at least one formal complaint made by a senior producer at ABC Radio.
Prior to going on leave for 2014 it is understood that Stubbs was instructed to apologise in front of ABC Radio staff, and he has taken consecutive periods of leave.
An ABC Spokesperson confirmed to News Limited that there are workplace issues involving Stubbs, saying;
“ABC management was made aware of workplace issues regarding Richard Stubbs and undertook an enquiry with concerned staff.
The ABC is satisfied the matter has been resolved appropriately and acknowledges Mr Stubbs’s deep regret for any distress caused to his colleagues. He is on scheduled leave and will return and is looking forward to a positive year with the team at 774.”
Richard Stubbs has been with the ABC for some years now following a high profile and successful career in the 90s as Breakfast Announcer on Triple M Melbourne, and a brief period hosting national Triple M Breakfast. He is the brother of 3AW Announcer Peter "Grubby" Stubbs.
