Coasting along: Local stations dominate Xtra Insights Survey 1 for Mandurah
The first Xtra Insights survey of 2025 has landed, with local stations dominating the state of play in Mandurah, WA.
97.3 Coast FM still leads the way as the station listened to most, with a 23.3 audience share (-2.4), ahead of 91.7 The Wave (+3.1 to 20.7).
But The Wave enjoyed a strong book, up in all shifts across the day and on weekends.
The Wave’s Breakfast team Gunners and Ali went up a whopping 4.6 to 21.6, putting them just 0.5 behind Coast FM’s Nikki and de Mello (main photo), with ABC Perth and Nova rounding out the top 4 in brekky.
West Coast Radio, which owns both local stations, says the simple philosophy of ‘keeping it local’ and having a passionate team has helped it achieve outstanding results.
“Over fifty stations can be heard in our market, which makes these results even more remarkable. More people than ever are tuning into local Mandurah radio each week according to the latest radio survey. With a 44% combined audience listening each week. When you wake up, at work or on the weekends 97.3 Coast FM and 91.7 The Wave are very much the preferred choice in the region.”
Content Director of West Coast Radio John De Bellis said the results are a credit to the great work the whole team puts in.
“We also would like to congratulate the Xtra Insights team for their 200th survey for regional Australia. It has been a game-changer.”
