Celebrating women in sport as Don’t Shoot the Messenger podcast goes live

An exclusive venue in Melbourne’s Albert Park last night played host to an inspiring live podcast as part of the Women In Sport Panel.

The Don’t Shoot The Messenger podcast – hosted by Caroline Wilson and Corrie Perkin and produced by Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) – joined forces with Lean Cuisine to present the event, with the theme Listen to Nobody But Your Body.

The evening brought together a full house of guests who’d won exclusive double passes to attend and featured a panel discussion with three trailblazing women in sport and media: Erin Phillips, Tayla Fraser and Rana Hussein.

The live podcast explored the panel’s personal journeys, challenges and triumphs in their respective fields.

The discussion highlighted the evolving landscape of women’s sports, representation in media, and the importance of authenticity and resilience.

Reflecting on the night, Caroline Wilson said “The women’s sport panel featuring Tayla, Erin and Rana was absolutely fascinating. These are three very different women, each sharing unique and honest stories. They offered thoughtful ideas about what can be done, what should be done, and what we should be celebrating ,rather than complaining about. I really enjoyed it.”

Corrie Perkin said “Caro and I have been dancing around sporting fields for more than 40 years as sports journalists. If you’d told me back then that I’d be hosting a Women In Sport Panel with women who are equal to men in influence and ability [in their field], I wouldn’t have believed it. It’s fantastic to see such great role models – role models not just for women, but for men too.”

‘Don’t Shoot The Messenger’ episodes drop weekly and are available on the SEN app and wherever you listen to podcasts.
