SCA creates head of audio production & operations role, appoints Cathrine McVeigh
Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has created a new role, head of audio production and operations.
Taking up the role, which is part of the content leadership team, is Cathrine McVeigh.
McVeigh has most recently been head of production for digital media and television at Southern Pictures, and has also worked at the ABC in various roles including digital production operations for podcasting and audio.
At SCA, she will oversee the creation of its new audio production and content operations hub, and will lead a combined team across the country to deliver audio content across the Hit and Triple M networks, commercial production and digital platform LiSTNR.
Chief content officer, Dave Cameron, said the appointment of McVeigh would help SCA continue to grow its audio content output.
“We’re excited to have a leader of Cathrine’s calibre join us at such an important time in SCA’s continued digital audio transformation,” he said. “She is a highly experienced strategic thought leader and creative innovator, who brings significant success leading large audio and operations teams and managing high-volume content slates across multiple audio and video platforms.”
McVeigh said she is thrilled to become a part of SCA, which she described as a creative powerhouse.
“I can’t wait to join the team and help drive commercial success for our audience, clients and the company in a rapidly evolving and exciting audio marketplace,” she added.
McVeigh starts on August 9 and will report to Cameron.
McVeigh’s hire is the latest in a series of senior promotions and appointments at SCA since the launch of its LiSTNR platform.
Earlier this year, the broadcaster promoted Grant Tothill to general manager of digital audio, and Chris Johnson became head of digital and innovation.
