Bumper crowds for Life FM Adelaide’s second Op till You Drop Community Market

Life FM Adelaide’s second Op till You Drop Community Market has been declared a huge success.

Shoppers flocked to the Flour Shed at Harts Mill in their droves on Saturday, April 18th – where some of the South Australia‘s best-known and unique community op-shops and vintage resellers had set up shop.

The concept of the market was born from a desire to bring all corners of the community together to support the financial needs of the charities that help thousands every year, and for Life FM – which prides itself on sharing positive, uplifting content across the airwaves – to facilitate the project.

The initiative was supported by by local charity organisations  including Vinnies, Red Cross, Elcies (Lutheran Care), Worn Again (part of City Light Cares), Second Chances, Treasured Op Shop (part of Clovercrest Baptist Church), Nu4U Op Shop (part of Seeds Church), St Paul’s Anglican Church Op Shop and Henley Op Shop – as well as Life FM in its fundraising as a not-for-profit community radio station.

“Life FM is a community-funded station on a mission to spread hope throughout Adelaide. We’re proud to be involved in a range of community projects and partnerships year-round, including initiatives like Life FM’s Lunchbox Legends and Buddy Blankets campaigns,” said Life FM Operations and Fundraising Manager Lorrene McClymont.

“Our team is deeply passionate about reaching those who may be struggling, offering encouragement, and providing a fresh, uplifting perspective through everything we do.”

“With the rising cost of living and a growing interest in sustainability, recycling, and making every dollar go further, we wanted to create a space that makes thrifting and vintage purchasing more accessible and fun.”

A handful of secondhand and vintage resellers were also present on April 18th, including Sought After Seconds, Rebels Relix Wear-Haus, Little Chicken’s Vintage, A Little Bit Nostalgic and Vintage Fox.

The next Life FM Op till You Drop Community Market will take place at Harts Mill on Saturday 19th September. Whilst most vendor spaces have been filled, a small amount still remain for local op-shop and vintage resellers to apply to take part.
