BOOM Radio honours Brad McNally

BOOM Radio is marking its 10th anniversary by honouring an industry great.

Throughout the last decade the studios have seen many industry professionals contribute to the development of students and BOOM.

In celebration, BOOM Radio students and alumni at North Metropolitan TAFE have made the decision to honour Brad McNally, by renaming Studio 3 the Brad ‘Ninja’ McNally Studio, affectionately referred to as the ‘Ninja’ Studio.

During his time at 96FM and Hot Tomato and throughout retirement, Brad dedicated hours of his time to BOOM, delivering numerous master classes and mentoring sessions, sharing stories and knowledge from his 45-years of experience in the radio industry.

Even during his battle with cancer, Brad continued to support students, alumni and lecturers, and was often seen around the BOOM studios where he recorded his McNally Masquerade program for thespirit.com based out of Canada.

The studio Brad based himself in for the Masquerade is the one being honoured in his name.

Phillip Vinciullo and Annwen Burrows, Broadcast Radio and Podcasting at NMT paid tribute:

“Brad had a presence that lit up a room and inspired you to create great radio. He was both intimidating and charismatic, tough and caring in equal measure. To have been able to work with Brad over the last decade was a dream come true. He has left a lasting impact on a generation of BOOM Radio students and staff. It’s fitting to rename a studio in Brad’s honour for our 10th anniversary.”

This weekend marks one year since Brad’s passing.

The BOOM Radio and NMT collective send its love and support to Brad’s wife Margaret, his daughters and extended family.

BOOM Radio will give acknowledgement to Brad – and thanks to all who have contributed throughout the last 10 years – at its anniversary party ‘BOOM’s Big Birthday’ at Badlands Bar Perth on November 10 and lookS forward to sharing more of the 10^th anniversary celebrations in the coming weeks.
