Lineup changes at Mix Sydney

Staff Writer

Mix 106.5 have announced some major changes to their lineup.

Rosso & Claire have been dropped by the station and replaced with Sami Lukis & Yumi Stynes (pictured).

Having 2 women host breakfast is a first for Sydney. ARN look to be following the successful formula they have developed with Chrissie & Jane in Melbourne.

Ex-River 94.9 PD Mike Byrne, who is a former PD of Mix 106.5, will be the shows EP and anchor.

Rosso will stay with the network to host a Sydney / Melbourne drive show, competing in the same daypart as Merrick on Triple M.

Ant Simpson will not be returning to the station in 2013. Neither will Claire Hooper who wanted to return to Melbourne.

Sami and Yumi said: “We’re really excited to be joining Mix106.5 for breakfast in 2013! The two of us are especially proud that we’ll be Sydney’s only all-female breakfast team. We're going to bring a fresh perspective to the kinds of things that we ourselves – and our audience – go through every day.”

ARN’s National Content Director Duncan Campbell said:

"This year the focus has been on Mix 1065 and I’m not going to try and hide the obvious in that we’ve had couple of average years in terms of ratings on Mix…for the first time since we began to rebuild our stations I feel confident that we have the right people on the air and off the air at Mix 1065 to see the increase in ratings we expect next year"
