Berwick woman wins KIIS101.1’s What’s That Noise

KIIS101.1’s $50,000 What’s That Noise competition has been won by a 32-year-old woman from Berwick, Melbourne.

Hailey, a full-time worker and mother of two, correctly guessed the noise this morning on the Matt & Meshel breakfast show. She was the first caller of the day.

The hallowed noise: closing the lid on a letterbox.

“I locked myself in the cupboard away from the kids just so I could try again,” Hailey told Matt & Meshel this morning, after attempting to phone in for the past two weeks.

Hailey’s fiancé George was originally doubtful about her guess, but everything changed when Hailey notified him of the good news on the air. “You were absolutely right honey, I was wrong,” he confessed.

The couple has been trying to save for a house deposit for the last eight years and will now use the cash towards buying a home.

Hundred of guesses were made by listeners throughout the competition including standing on the bathroom scales, opening a can of tuna, and even a close guess of taking mail out of the letterbox.
