Ben Hannant returns to the airwaves for new show on 92.5 Triple M Gold

The Gold Coast’s own Ben Hannant is returning to the airwaves with a new local morning show.

Starting tomorrow, Deadset Legends with Elliott Lovejoy & Ben Hannant will air Saturdays 8-11am on 92.5 Triple M Gold.

From the surf and sand and to the hinterland, Ben will host this dedicated Gold Coast radio show alongside Triple Ms Elliott Lovejoy.

Together, they’ll cover everything from the latest local footy club news to other local matters and local heroes, including deep dives into the world of sport.

As well as the new show, Ben will continue to call NRL games with the Triple M Rocks Footy team.

Born and bred on the Coast, Ben is one of 11 siblings. He and his wife Emma have eight children. He’s the ultimate family man with a cheeky wit who’s always ready for a stunt.

Affectionately known as ‘The Polar Bear’, Ben was the local Burleigh Bears junior who turned national NRL legend, playing over 12 seasons, including in State of Origin and representing Australia.

Having made his mark on the sporting field, Ben found a new career in the radio studio, hosting the Breakfast shift on 90.9 Sea FM from 2017 to 2023.

Ben says “I can’t wait to get back in the studio and deliver a show for the Coast!”

“I’m really excited to join Elliott and share local stories, talk about the things that really matter to our community, build a connection with everyone around the Gold Coast and celebrate what makes our city so special. Let’s get started!”

Joining Ben in the studio is co-host of The Rush Hour Queensland, Elliott Lovejoy. In the radio game for over 13 years, his credentials expand throughout the country and overseas to Canada, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Elliott also loves calling local NRL games for Triple M and cheering on his beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

SCA Head of Content – Regional, Blair Woodcock, says “No one knows the Coast like Ben, which makes him the perfect person to combine his community passion and sporting excellence with Elliott, to create a standout Saturday show for this growing city.”

Listen to the Gold Coast’s Dead Set Legends with Elliott Lovejoy & Ben Hannant, Saturday mornings from 8-11am on 92.5 Triple M Gold and on LiSTNR.

No local programmer for SCA Gold Coast?

How the mighty have fallen, once the regional base for the RG Capital stations that were then combined with the DMG regionals, the forerunner of SCA today and yet takes its direction from Townsville.
