Baggs lands Nova late night gig

Radio Today can confirm that former Home & Away star Jason ‘Finn’ Smith has left Nova late nights “to focus on his acting career”.

His replacement is Simon Baggs, who joined Nova late last year pulling weekend shifts on Nova 96.9 Sydney. He is now on-air weeknights from 10pm to 1am and weekend breakfast across the Nova network.

“I’ve landed a gig at Nova at the best time with the brand refresh. The vibe in the station is AMAZING, Sarah McGilvray is an awesome leader and a quality program director. I’m excited to be part of the Nova Network as the year unfolds,” Baggs told Radio Today.

Baggs was part of the original KIIS 106.5 Sydney line-up that went to number one, pulling a six-hour shift on-air.

Towards the end of 2015, he was tapped on the shoulder to anchor and launch KIIS 101.1’s new breakfast with Matt Tilley and Jane Hall. By 2016, while still anchoring the breakfast, it saw a line-up change with Meshel Laurie joining the team.
