Aussie woman recounts cardiac arrest at Adele concert on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie

This morning on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, a listener rang up and recounted the terrible moment that she suffered a cardiac arrest at Adele’s Sydney concert – leaving her clinically dead for 8 minutes.

Megan from Kirrawee opened up about the 2017 incident, detailing how it halted the entire show – and made worldwide headlines.

She shared how she was brought back to life and became best friends with the doctor who saved her (the doctor was luckily only 3 rows behind).

Megan: “I was in a coma for six days at Westmead Hospital … I had no heart disease. It was just an arrhythmia, they said it only happens to elite athletes but I was a bit chubby at the time around 90 kilos, so they ruled that out pretty quick!”

Fitzy: “Did you hear from Adele at all?”

Megan: “I did … I swear to God I did! But look, it was really unfortunate that ‘Hello from the other side’ was playing as I’m lying there dead in the stadium at bloody Homebush … they stopped the concert and wheeled me out.”

“But she [Adele] did, she sent flowers and her PR team rang my daughter and said ‘Look we can’t get through’ because the hospital had blocked the media because it was reported that I died.”

Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie can be heard from 6am to 9am on Nova 96.9 in Sydney and nationally on the Nova Network from 5am. Listeners can stream the show live or catch up with the daily podcast by downloading the Nova Player.
