Aussie Iggy Azalea makes history in the States

Staff Writer

Aussie Iggy Azalea has made a huge impact on Australian radio.

And now the Fancy rapper from Mullumbimby, New South Wales has made history in the States.

She tweeted: “So let this serve as proof anything is possible & I hope we see more female rappers new and established in the charts. Dope stuff, thanks!”

Azalea, who turns 24 next week, is just the second artist to have their first two releases rank number one and two simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100.

Fancy is at the top of the chart while Ariana Grande’s Problem featuring Iggy Iggs is at number two.

The Beatles are the only other artist to achieve that feat. Their one and two was in 1964 with I Wanna Hold Your Hand and She Loves You.
