ARIAs to head north?

Gold Coast identity Billy Cross has launched a bid to grab the ARIAs from Sydney, and the ARIA Hall of Fame from Melbourne to boost the profile of the coast.

Cross, who is the creator and owner of Summafielddayze (as opposed to Summadayze) and the Manpower brand, believes both events should be held at either Jupiters Casino or the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Cross has confirmed that he is in talks with the ARIA committee to bring the awards to the Gold Coast saying "having something like the ARIAs here is not only great for tourism, but is wonderful for the city's brand and image……we are going aggressively after the event."
