Alex Agishev (Dean) joins ARN Dubai

The Arabian Radio Network (ARN), who operate 9 radio stations in the United Arab Emirates, have appointed Australian programmer Alex Agishev as Head of Programming for Virgin Dubai.

Agishev, better known in Australia as Alex Dean, had a long career in Australian radio with Nova Entertainment, Southern Cross Austereo, and ARN. 

He has spent a year in Europe working with Russian broadcasting company Multi Media Holdings.

Agishev commented:

“It (the UAE) is one of the fastest growing radio markets in the world and Virgin Radio DXB is leading the way through innovative content and digital penetration.”

ARN's Australian Chief Operating Officer Steve Smith said: “We have big plans to grow in the UAE, and Alex’s 25 years of industry experience, vision and zest will help ensure we continue to turn radio on its head.”

Virgin Dubai launched 7 years ago and is a CHR formatted station targeting 15-35.
