AFTRS students launch 2RS on iHeartRadio

AFTRS Radio students have launched their second pop-up station of 2019.

Their latest venture is 2RS and is billed as ‘The Ultimate 80s to Now’ station.

The station is live for two weeks, is focussed on Wollongong, Muswellbrook and Nowra, and can be streamed online on iHeartRadio nationally.

The Graduate Diploma of Radio students spent two days with Grant Broadcasters in all three markets before launching the station.

2RS targets the 40-55 demographic and is a contemporary mix of established artists with new music and local information.

“2RS provides students with a deeper understanding of regional commercial radio, the importance of localism and feedback from industry,” said AFTRS Head of Radio Fyona Smith.

“iHeartRadio is thrilled to continue its support of AFTRS as their streaming partner, helping to develop the broadcasting talent for a digital future,” added iHeartRadio CD Brett ‘Nozz’ Nossiter.
