AFTRS announces upcoming Industry Certificates & Short Courses

The Australian Film Television & Radio School (AFTRS) has announced its upcoming program of study courses, starting over the next few months.

AFTRS is set to offer a new program of Industry Certificates, aimed at providing the skills and knowledge to succeed in an increasingly competitive industry landscape.

The first of which is a course in Radio Content, Management & Leadership, which starts on April 29 and runs part time & online with one Friday-Saturday in Sydney.

This course is designed for experienced radio staff working in the commercial, public and community broadcasting sectors wanting to step up into management, content and programming roles. Delivered mostly online, it will develop your programming, management and leadership skills to a professional standard.

AFTRS has also announced a series of Online and Radio Short Courses in Sydney.

Radio Fundamentals: Online – starting February 11 for six weeks.

An introductory course suitable for both community and radio practitioners and complete beginners.  Learn about the industry, sourcing and developing content, broadcast law, interviewing, planning, producing and building a show.

Podcasting Fundamentals: Online – starting February 28 for six weeks.

Learn how to create your own podcasts with practical advice and skills training from experts.

Podcasting Fundamentals: Sydney – two-day course over February 23 and 24.

Voice Over Fundamentals: Sydney – two-day course over March 16 and 17.

Become a voice-over artist. Learn how to use correct vocal and microphone techniques, marking up a standard commercial script, interpreting and delivering straight and character reads and more.
