AFL player grills the PM over Trump’s tariffs on Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren

This morning on Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren, the team were joined by Hawthorn AFL player Nick Watson, who took the opportunity to grill Prime Minister Anthony Albanese when he called in to talk about Donald Trump’s latest tariffs.

Nick: Hey. How you going?

PM: I’m going very, very well. Not as well as you’re going, though. Four from Four! Very good. And you’ve got the week off!

Nick: Yeah, just kicking the legs this week. And yeah, got some questions for ya.

PM: Well, off you go.

Nick: You ready?

PM: Yep.

Nick: Donald Trump could soon announce tariffs on Aussie beef and drugs.

PM: Huh!

Nick: Should we return serve with our own sharriffs … tariff?

PM: No, because it is an act of economic self harm to put tariffs on.

Jase: Can I ask Wiz, do you know what tariffs are?

Nick: I could not tell you one thing you just said. I sort of zoned out.
