A surprise duet and proposal as Morgan Evans takes to the Nova’s Red Room stage

On Friday May 17, Morgan Evans (pictured main) lit up Nova’s Red Room at Mix Tape Brewing & Bar in Marrickville in front of a packed room of fans and with a couple of unexpected surprises.

Hosted by Nova’s Jack Charles (pictured above), from The Chrissie Swan Show, the night kicked off with a introductory set from rising Australian country star Kesha Neve before Morgan then hit the stage belting out crowd favourites, like Kiss Somebody, and tracks from his new album, Steel Town, which is a tribute to his Newcastle roots.

Morgan surprised the crowd when he was joined by partner Laci Kaye Booth for a duet of Two Broken Hearts, followed by Lord I Hope This Day is Good.

Then a further surprise with an on-stage proposal, as one Sydney fan got down on one knee in front of a cheering Morgan and crowd to propose to her girlfriend.

Morgan dedicated Thank God She’s a Country Girl to the newly engaged couple before powering through Young Again, Ain’t Going Down ’Til the Sun Comes Up, and closing the night with his hit Day Drunk.
