ARN celebrates ’40 years of real music’ in new TVC for 96FM Perth

Australian Radio Network (ARN) has launched a new television commercial for Perth’s 96FM to celebrate 40 years of ‘real music’.

ARN said the commercial was created after research conducted among 96FM’s listeners found that ‘real music’ evokes a physical response among listeners, and just like the station itself, stands the test of time.

The commercial features a number of close-up shots of various facial expressions from listeners as ‘Take Me Back’ by Australian ’80s rock band Noiseworks plays in the background, linking back to the station’s 40-year history on the airwaves.

96FM’s managing director Gary Roberts said that the new campaign perfectly embodied the nature of the station.

“Real music has always been the core of who we are at 96FM,” he said in a press release.

We have a rich 40-year history of real music in Perth and this new TVC embodies that and the good times we deliver to our listeners.”

Donna Gordon, ARN’s marketing director, added that the ad’s backing track complements everything that is at the heart 96FM.

“The collaborative process with our agencies worked exceptionally well and this final result is an exciting new creative direction for the 96FM brand,” she said.

96FM’s 40 Years of Real Music campaign will roll out across TV, BVOD, large format, digital, social and street posters around Perth in the weeks ahead.

In the most recent radio ratings, 96FM had a 10.7% share, behind Nova’s 13.3% and Mix 94.5’s 12.6%.
