92.9’s Baz having second child

Perth's 92.9 breakfast host Basil Zempilas made an announcement yesterday on the show.

Basil keeps very busy balancing breakfast radio with his commitments to Channel Seven and AFL calling duties.

He has told WA Today that: "We're very excited….It was as planned as these things can be. You try your luck and hope for the best and we were trying our luck, that's for sure.

"It was really hard because people are expecting us to be having a second child and we got asked a lot 'Any news for us yet?' and 'Number two can't be far away!' and we'd say 'Oh hopefully we'll have some news for you soon, but not yet!' and that kind of thing."

Basil and wife Amy already have a daughter, Ava, but this time around he says he's expecting a boy.

"I must admit, not that you can tell from the scans obviously, but I said straight away it looks like a boy. I've got a slight leaning toward boy this time, but I must admit the bond between father and daughter is so strong that I can't lose either way, that's for sure."
