92.9 do it for the kids

Staff Writer

The annual 92.9 Perth Telethon has commenced for 2012.

Around 250,000 children are treated at the Princess Margaret Hospital for children in Perth each year, and 92.9 have gotten behind the fundraiser once again.

Each year the appeal runs for a fortnight, and in 2011 it raised $153,000 for the PMH.

The Telethon, run by former Mix 94.5 Programmer Steve Mummery, is driven largely from the 92.9 Breakfast show, Lisa, Paul and Baz, who will run a series of fundraising 'stunts' over the fortnight of the appeal.

The appeal is structured in such a way that it focuses on raising money to purchase a specific piece of medical equipment, once they reach that point, the focus turns to a different item. So far, they have raised funds to purchase 10 blood pressure machines, and tomorrow they move onto the next item.

You can track the progress of the donations here as they look to beat the 153k from last year.
