7HO FM in Hobart has appointed a new general manager, with Mick Raisin to replace the outgoing Colin Taylor.

Taylor spent over a decade with 7HO and Grant Broadcasters and spoke with Radio Today in late 2018 about the station’s continued survey success.

As of October, 7HO was the market leading FM station in Hobart with #1 positions both overall and on Breakfast.

“Localism is king, it always has been, and if you get that right I think the listeners will fall into line,” said Taylor.

For his part, Mick moves from his current role as GM of Southern Cross Austereo in Mt Gambier, overseeing Hit96.1 and Triple M there.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Grant Broadcasters and to be given the opportunity to lead such an important station within the Grant Broadcasters stable,” said Mick.

“My wife and I have had a long-held desire to relocate to Hobart, so the opportunity to combine my love of Tasmania with my love for radio was an opportunity too good to miss.”

RGM for Grant Broadcasters in Tasmania Tim Holder said; “7HOFM was fortunate to be able to attract an executive the calibre of Mick to lead this important capital city station. Maintaining our dominance in Hobart remains our key priority, ensuring we engage our audience and deliver strong results for our advertisers.”

Grant Broadcasters chief operating officer Rick Lenarcic added; “I have had the pleasure of previously working with Mick over many years and there is no doubt he will bring a life time of experience and media knowledge to the Tasmanian team. We welcome him to the family business”.

Mick begins the new role on July 8.
